PhotographyBLOG has posted a review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH1.
If you’re looking for high-definition video in a DSLR format, then the Panasonic GH1 is easily your best choice. The ability to continuously auto-focus during recording simply isn’t offered by the likes of the Canon EOS 500D or Nikon D5000, which force the user to manually focus.

Trusted Reviews has posted a review of the Sigma DP2.
Picture quality at low ISO settings is simply breathtaking, especially when viewing the X3 Raw files using the supplied Sigma Photo Pro software.
Purportedly, this is the back panel of the coming Olympus E-P1. You can’t really glean a whole lot from this pic, other than it appears to have normal digital camera functions. Photo Rumors breaks down what they think all these buttons mean.

Canon Rumors calls this one a sure thing, saying that APS-H is alive and well. The Canon 1D Mark IV (or Mark IIIn, or whatever-it’s-called) will keep the APS-H sensor format (i.e., 1.3x crop) and should be around the 15-megapixel range. Let’s hope Canon loses the quirky autofocus issues along the way…

Buy-N-Shoot has posted a review of the Canon PowerShot SX1 IS.
Canon’s PowerShot SX1 IS is certainly on the upper end of the compact camera market both in terms of performance and therefore price. As a result however, it delivers good quality images and fantastic high definition movies – a combination likely to suit certain photographers and hobbyists to a tee.

B&H Photo has posted a hands-on review of the Nikon D5000.
In practice, image files held up quite well through ISO 1600 before noise and breakdowns of tonal gradations started becoming noticeable.

Buy-N-Shoot has posted a review of the Sony Cybershot T77.
Image quality overall is good but unlikely to satisfy keen photographers who demand sharper, more consistently exposed photographs.
This image showing the LCD screen of what is clearly a Nikon D300s was purportedly taken from the official Nikon USA site (it’s down now). The LCD screen cap shows the Nikon D300s model name, as well as an indication that it has an SD slot via the info in the lower left corner. These validity of this rumor just increased to all-but-official and we should be seeing a replacement for the Nikon D300 anytime now.

A bit a rumor-mongering and “reports” suggest a July 7th announcement date for the Samsung GX-30 and an NX Series camera.
This post at Pentax Forums alludes the July 7 announce date, while following up with a couple of pictures I took at PMA 2009 of the new NX series prototype. These images actually appeared on the promo screen, which was essentially a slide show of a NX series mockup that showed “features” of the coming camera system. [Read more…]
