Sony A350 Review at PopPhoto

May 2, 2008 By Eric Reagan

PopPhoto has posted a review of the new 14.2 megapixel Sony A350.

Based on our DxO Analyzer 3.1 Blur tests of A350 images shot using a 100-300mm zoom set to 200mm, this sensor-shift system delivered between 2.5 and 3 stops of improvement, similar to the A100 and slightly less than the A700.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ4 Review at Steve’s Digicams

May 2, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Steve’s Digicams has posted a review of the Pansonic Lumix DMC-TZ4.

The image quality from our outdoor images are excellent for a camera in this category. Our photos show good overall exposure and natural color saturation. The Leica 10x zoom lens offers a 35mm equivalent focal range of 28-280mm, and is an outstanding feature on this camera.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ8 Review at Steve’s Digicams

May 2, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Steve’s Digicams has posted a review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ8.

Image quality when using 8M Fine mode was average when compared to similar models in this class. When shooting outdoors, the camera produced crisp, clear images with good exposures and colors. The Leica 5x optical zoom lens has a 35mm equivalent of 32-160mm, giving you an excellent wide angle end as well as a good telephoto coverage.

New Canon 5D Mark II and 1D Mark IIIn Rumor – June 2008

May 1, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Just when we thought rumors had died off for the Canon 5D Mark II and 1D Mark IIIn, up crops another over at the FredMiranda.com forums.  This one seems pretty weak on its face; however, Yakim (the poster) has been around for quite some time and generally has a pretty good ear to the ground for upcoming gear.  Still yet, take it with a grain of salt.

5D Mk II.
1D Mk III N.
2 new lenses.

The source is an old Israeli photographer which shoots Nikon, has a vast collection of Nikon equipment and has some internal knowledge in Nikon and Canon (a little). FWIW, he is well respected in Israel and is considered a reliable source.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS20 Review at Trusted Reviews

May 1, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Trusted Reviews has posted a review of the 10.1 megapixel Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS20.

The Lumix FS20 is a companion model the the FS5, offering a larger LCD screen and slightly better handling. Build quality is excellent, and the overall design is functional but attractive. It is a point-and-shoot camera with a limited but sensible range of features, and performs well in most situations, with good low light capabilities.

Fujifilm FinePix S100fs Review at Photo Review

May 1, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Photo Review has posted a review of the Fujifilm FinePix S100fs.

Photographs taken with the test camera in bright lighting were colour accurate with more restrained saturation than we’re accustomed to in digicams. They also showed a significantly wider-than-average dynamic range. In our shooting tests we found increasing the dynamic range expansion settings tended to reduce overall image contrast.

Casio Exilim EX-Z80 Review at Trusted Reviews

May 1, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Trusted Reviews has reviewed the Casio Exilim EX-Z80.

The Casio Exilim EX-Z80 is a remarkable camera in many ways. Not only is it the smallest 8-megapixel camera on the market, it has a number of advanced technical features not found on rival models. Design, build quality, performance and handling are all very good, and the AF system is amazing, but these attributes are somewhat let down by rather sub-standard image quality. Nonetheless, as a convenient pocket snapshot camera it’s hard to beat, and represents good value for its low price.

Pentax K200D Review at Cnet

April 30, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Cnet has posted a review of the Pentax K200D.

Pentax’s K200D entry-level SLR gives a lot of bang for the buck and has better performance than last year’s model. Despite low noise and pleasingly detailed images, technically inaccurate colors keep it from capturing the gold medal for image quality.
