The Canon PowerShot G9X is now available for $399 (orig. $529). If you aren’t familiar with the G9X, it is a point-and-shoot camera with a 20MP 1″ class sensor. Canon has launched the Rebel T7i and 77D as its new entry-level models, which now fill the roles of the preceding Rebel T6i and Rebel T6s. Ink cartridges are a racket and we all know it. It’s the not-so-hidden cost of buying an ink jet printer. The makers of these “affordable” machines love to discount the hardware price to hook you on a recurring cycle of buying the outrageously expensive ink cartridges.
When Epson announced a new ink tank system back in 2015, we saw a glimpse of what was to come (for the better, perhaps). And now, Canon has joined the party in typical Canon fashion with not one, but four new ink jet printers that use a new ink tank system instead of the tiny cartridges. [Read more…]
