Sony is the Alpha in US Full Frame Camera Market
Sony’s Alpha camera line delivers the moxy that the camera market was lacking. Sony has spent years refining the system and gave us the first taste of what a full frame mirrorless camera could mean for photographers. For their part, photographers have responded with overwhelming support of the Sony A7 product line, along with healthy feedback that Sony actually embraces and integrates into subsequent products.
This cycle of innovation and refinement continues to pay dividends in the shrinking camera market. Through the first half of 2018, Sony has sold more full frame cameras in the US than any other manufacturer of interchangeable lens cameras (this stat includes DSLRs).* In fact, Sony full frame cameras made up 40% of the full frame market sales in the US. Sigma’s 9 Art Primes for Sony E-Mount are Now Available
Sigma’s updated set of nine prime Art lenses for native Sony E-mount are now available and shipping. The lenses include Sigma’s new 70mm f/2.8 DG Macro and 105mm f/1.4 DG HSM lenses, along with seven existing lenses:

Sigma 35mm and 85mm Art Lenses Now Available for Sony E
B&H has the new Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens and the 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens in stock for Sony E mount cameras. The lenses are priced at $899 and $1199, respectively.
These Sony versions have the same optics and overall construction of these popular lenses in the Canon/Nikon mount counterparts. However, the lens barrel is extended to make up for the additional flange distance required provide a native Sony E-mount.
Sony Cyber-shot RX100 VI Pocket-sized Superzoom Unveiled
Sony’s RX100 line is becoming somewhat legendary and the new RX100 VI looks to be more of the same. Sony continues to push boundaries with the RX100 VI, adding a 24-200mm f/2.8-4.5 zoom lens on the still-pocketable camera – all the while keeping its signature 20.1MP 1″ image sensor. [Read more…]

Sony continues to make big runs at Canon and Nikon. With each new camera announcement, more and more eyebrows are raised to what Sony’s E-mount line is offering. The latest big move doesn’t come from Sony directly though.
