Canon 1D X In-Stock Soon?

July 3, 2012 By Eric Reagan

Canon 1D X

Several sources around the web are reporting that US retailers will be getting their first shipments of the Canon 1D X this week.  While you shouldn’t expect to see 1D X actually in stock this week, this is a good sign that pre-orders will start being fulfilled on this long-delayed camera.

This also means that we’ll start seeing some real-world usage from the 1D X filter onto the web.  It’s been a long time since I first got hands on the 1D X back in October 2011.  I sure didn’t think that it would be nearly nine months later before the camera shipped.

Canon 1D X

B&H is finally taking pre-orders for the Canon 1D X.  Notes on the product page indicate that initial quantities will be limited, which is probably quite the understatement.  You can get in line here at B&H Photo.

Adobe Camera Raw 6.7 Release Candidate Available, Latest Nikon & Canon Models Supported

March 7, 2012 By Eric Reagan

Nikon D800 Support in Camera Raw 6.7

Adobe Camera Raw 6.7 release candidate is available for download via Adobe Labs. Camera Raw 6.7 adds support for the following cameras:

  • Canon EOS 1D X
  • Canon EOS 5D Mk III
  • Canon PowerShot G1 X
  • Canon PowerShot S100V
  • Fuji FinePix F505EXR
  • Fuji FinePix F605EXR
  • Fuji FinePix HS30EXR
  • Fuji FinePix HS33EXR
  • Fuji FinePix X-S1
  • Nikon D4
  • Nikon D800
  • Nikon D800E
You’ll also need Camera Raw 6.7 for full support between Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS5. Several lens profiles have been added/updated as well.

Remember, this is a release candidate, which means it has been pretty well tested and Adobe thinks it is ready for full release; however, it’s recommended that you keep production work to prior versions until the official releases drop.  Expect those to come soon though.  Release candidates mean that the final versions are just around the corner.
