The Flaspoint 500C LED dimmable light is a rather compact and affordable LED solution from Adorama. The light features 500 individual LED bulbs – 250 of which are daylight balanced and 250 of which are tungsten balanced.
The two sets of LED bulbs are controlled by two independent dimmer knobs. As a result, you have a fully dimmable light and a variable color temperature light. Both are pretty cool features for a $200 video light. [Read more…]
Adorama has its Flashpoint All-Inclusive Cinema Bundle on sale for $499.95 through January 25, 2013. The bundle, which is built for turning an HDSLR into a full-fledged cinema rig, is normally available for $599.95, which is a deal in itself given that the shoulder rig, matte box and follow focus would cost over $850 if purchased separately. Adorama has announced a new Flashpoint 14″ dimmable ring light for $99.95. It features an 80-watt circular fluorescent bulb and is daylight balanced at a temperature of 5600K.
Thanks to the higher lumens-per-watt produced by fluorescent bulbs, the 80-watt ring light offers roughly the equivalent light output that you would get from a 320-watt tungsten fixture.
