Canon 5D Mark III Magic Lantern Update Adds Clean HDMI and HDR Video

Magic Lantern, the advanced (and unofficial) HDSLR firmware developers, just keeps cranking out the good stuff for Canon HDSLRs.  In this second Alpha update for Canon 5D Mark III, the new powerhouse camera gets even more power with a clean HDMI output and HDR video mode.  Other additions include gradual exposure, focus assist tools, display tweaks and more.

As with the LockPort800, the LockPort5M3 protects HDMI output on your camera from production abuse with a solid universal clamp and a mini to full-size HDMI adapter.

The LockPort5M3 retails for $119 and is available direct from LockCircle.com which shipping set to begin in June.

Sony CLM-V55 Portable Monitor In-Stock

The sweet little 5-inch monitor that Sony introduced at CES 2011 is now in stock and shipping for $399.

The CLM-V55 has a clip-on attachment for mounting on Sony Alpha hot shoes or a standard hot/cold shoe as found on other DSLRs and camcorders.  The 5-inch display has a 800 x 480 resolution and offers a 1:1 zoom to full HD images. It connects via HDMI and sports a headphone jack so you can monitor audio as well.
