Panasonic GX1
The Panasonic GX2 is rumored to be forthcoming and offer a new 18MP sensor, along with built-in image stabilization, a max 1/8000s shutter speed and a built-in viewfinder.
The solid little Panasonic GX1 is currently available at a bargain basement price of $239 here at B&H Photo.

B&H has the Panasonic Lumix GX1 body for only $249 [updated 5/23/13] $239. It retailed for $699 when it was new and is a great Micro Four Thirds camera. See my Panasonic Lumix GX1 review.

Zacuto has a new Z-Finder Pro designed for the Panasonic GH3 thanks to a GH3-specific Gorilla Plate that attaches to the bottom of the camera.
The GH-3 Z-Finder Pro has a 2.5x magnification and diopter for fine-tuning focus. If you already have a Z-Finder Pro or Jr., you can just pick up a Gorilla Plate and frame for the GH3.
The Z-Finder Pro for the GH3 retails for $395. The GH3 frame and plate kit runs $129. More details on Zacuto’s website.
The Panasonic Lumix LF1 is a new 12MP compact camera that captures RAW image files and features a 7.1x optical zoom (28-200mm equivalent). The LF1 also features WiFi and NFC (Near Field Communication) connectivity, along with a 3″ LCD and an electronic viewfinder. [Read more…]
The Panasonic Lumix G6 follows the G5 as an entry-level Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera less than a year after the G5 was announced. The G6 features a 16.05MP sensor, 3-inch touch screen display and an EVF. It will capture up to 1080/60p HD video in either MP4 or AVCHD.
The G6 also features WiFi and NFC connectivity for connecting to mobile devices using Panasonic’s “Image App”. [Read more…]
The new Panasonic Lumix G6 and LF1 cameras are expected to be announced next week. The Micro Four Thirds Lumix G6 would replace the Lumix G5, which features a 16.05MP sensor, 3″ touchscreen LCD and 1080p video capture at 60fps. I would expect a rather incremental upgrade for the G6 since the flagship Panasonic Lumix GH3 also sports a 16.05MP sensor and 1080/60p video. [Read more…]
4K was certainly the big theme this year at NAB. Whether it was cameras, capture, post or delivery, 4K video was everywhere.
Of course, some manufacturers are further along than others in the 4K development pipeline. Panasonic happened to have a single 4K camcorder under glass. However, this was a working model that was pumping out a 4K signal via a single HDMI 1.4a cable to a 4K monitor next to the display. [Read more…]
