Nikon Coolpix P80 Review at Photo Review

July 27, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Photo Review has posted a review of the Nikon Coolpix P80.  The new P80 boasts a 10.1 megapixel image sensor, Nikon’s EXPEED processing and vibration reduction on a whopping 18x optical zoom lens.  The P80’s 18x Zoom-NIKKOR lens covers focal lengths from 27-486mm (35mm format equivalent).

Resolution was close to expectations for a 10-megapxiel camera in our Imatest evaluations but we found a measurable (although not large) difference between centre and edge resolution across the lens aperture and focal length range.

Nikon Coolpix P80 Review at Trusted Reviews

July 27, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Trusted Reviews has posted a review of the Nikon Coolpix P80.  The new P80 boasts a 10.1 megapixel image sensor, Nikon’s EXPEED processing and vibration reduction on a whopping 18x optical zoom lens.  The P80’s 18x Zoom-NIKKOR lens covers focal lengths from 27-486mm (35mm format equivalent).

As super-zoom bridge cameras go, the Nikon Coolpix P80 is okay, but there are reservations. While the handling is generally good and instinctual, it feels a bit of a lightweight and it’s not the most responsive in the world. Image quality is average too, with good exposure and colour, but it’s let down by fringing and noise.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 Review at Imaging Resource

July 27, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Imaging Resource has published a review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5.

Despite the usual image quality issues you encounter when shooting at higher ISO settings, the Panasonic TZ5 has many strengths, most notably its 10x optical zoom lens and its optical image stabilization.

Casio EXILIM EX-F1 Review at Digital Camera Info

July 26, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Digital Camera Info has posted a review of the 60fps Casio EX-F1.

Casio’s EXILIM EX-F1 promises features no digital camera on the market has offered before, and it delivers – with some reservations. The camera’s strongest suit is the option to shoot up to 60 full-res 6-megapixel images in a second. Combined with a sophisticated prerecord capability that continually captures images to a buffer when you half-press the shutter and saves the most recent ones to memory when push the shutter all the way, the tools you need to never miss another great shot are at hand. Image quality wasn’t great, but it’s perfectly acceptable for on-screen viewing or consumer-size prints.

Samsung GX-20 Review at PhotographyBLOG

July 26, 2008 By Eric Reagan

PhotographyBLOG has posted a review of the Samsung GX-20.

The shutter release mechanism and auto-focusing system are still noisy, and we’d upgrade the supplied 18-55mm kit lens as soon as possible to get the best out of the sensor, but overall the GX-20 remains one of the most innovative and well-built mid-range DSLRs currently available, which we can easily highly recommend.

Panasonic Lumix FS20 Review at Steve’s Digicams

July 26, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Steve’s Digicams has posted a review of the Panasonic Lumix FS20.

The Panasonic Lumix FS20 is an incredibly easy to use and stylish 10-megapixel model. The wide 4x optical zoom and iA shooting mode, gives anyone the ability to take great pictures. The only drawback to this camera is the noise that seems to be present in the dark areas of all the photographs.

Nikon Coolpix P80 Review at Let’s Go Digital

July 26, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Let’s Go Digital has posted a review of the Nikon Coolpix P80. The new P80 boasts a 10.1 megapixel image sensor, Nikon’s EXPEED processing and vibration reduction on a whopping 18x optical zoom lens. The P80’s 18x Zoom-NIKKOR lens covers focal lengths from 27-486mm (35mm format equivalent).

It is a camera that seems to have everything going for it and seems remarkably interesting. Besides that, it is the new Megazoom camera of the Nikon brand continuing the successful Coolpix 8xxx series. However, it just doesn’t hit the spot. And therefore you can’t shoot that all-round with the camera the way you would want to.

Fuji FinePix S100fs Review at DC Resource

July 26, 2008 By Eric Reagan

DC Resource has posted a review of the Fujifilm FinePix S100FS.

The S100fs is better than other ultra zooms in most respects, save for purple fringing, RAW editing, and battery life. Is it $300 – $400 better? I’m not so sure of that. If you’re willing to part with nearly $700 on a fixed-lens camera, then the FinePix S100fs is absolutely worth a look.

Nikon Coolpix S210 Review at Cameras.co.uk

July 26, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Cameras.co.uk has posted a review of the Nikon Coolpix S210.

When looking at such a small camera as the Nikon Coolpix S210 it is rare to find perfect photos. This camera does a decent job and is a good snapshot camera for carrying around on your travels.
