The Canon Digital Rebel Series has been around since 2003 and has been the most popular DSLR over the past decade. Before the Digital Rebel, the Canon Rebel brand was already very strong with several film cameras a part of the product line. There are so many lenses in Canon’s product line. And then, when you consider all the lenses offered by third party manufacturers like Sigma, Tamron and Tokina, knowing which lens to purchase can get confusing.

New Entry-Level Canon DSLR Coming to CP+

The latest rumors suggest that the next Canon DSLR coming to us will be an entry-level model situated below the Canon Rebel SL1 and will be showcased at CP+ next month.

Recall that the Rebel SL1 was announced in March 2013 and turned out to be a fantastic little camera. I liked it so much that I bought one for myself. It is a great camera to carry when paired with the EF 40mm f/2.8 ST lens.

I look forward to seeing if Canon will continue this new compact line, or if this will be more like an update to the very low-end Rebel T3.

Canon Releases White EOS Kiss X7 in Japan

After a bit of a tease, Canon has released a white color variation of the EOS Kiss X7 (aka Rebel SL1 & 100D) in Japan only. All of the features appear to be the same other than the color. The white Kiss X7 is available with a standard 18-55mm IS STM kit lens or a matching white EF 40mm f/2.8 STM kit lens.

Canon’s New Teaser is a White KISS

That teaser we saw from Canon Korea last week looks to be a white KISS model, which is known to be the Rebel line in the US. In all likelihood, we are going to see a white Canon Rebel SL1 or T5i released instead of an all new DSLR. Additionally, this may be just an Asia thing and the US and rest of the world may not see the new version of the camera at all.

Canon Teases New DSLR Coming This Month

Camera manufacturers seem to have caught on that the rumor mill can build buzz for new products prior to their launch. Recall the recent Nikon Pure Photography teasers leading up to the launch of the Nikon Df. With that in mind, Canon’s Korean website is teasing a new DSLR that is currently covered in white fabric. Some speculation suggests that is a Canon Rebel SL1 under the fabric.

A short message in Korean supposedly states: “November 2013, Canon will start from the white world. Coming soon.” [Read more…]
