Panasonic Lumix LX3 Review by Ryan Brenizer

December 1, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Ryan Brenizer has posted a review of the Panasonic Lumix LX3.

Since the LX3 starts at ISO 80 and can easily sync with flashes at 1/2000th of a second, it’s almost 20 times as effective as my $5,000 D3 at canceling out ambient light.

Studio Impressions Hands-On with the Nikon D3X

December 1, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Studio Impressions Blog has posted a short hands-on account of time spent with a pre-production Nikon D3X along with some JPEG sample images.

Even though the camera was a pre-production model I was extremely impressed with both the camera and lens. As you will see with the images I have posted the clarity, sharpness, dynamic range is exceptional.

Stay tuned to Photography Bay’s Nikon D3X Reviews and Resources for the latest.

Canon PowerShot A1000 IS Review at Digital Camera Review

December 1, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Digital Camera Review has posted a review of the Canon PowerShot A1000 IS.

After using both the A1000 and the A2000, I’m impressed with their efficacy as image-makers, but I miss the better responsiveness, control, and creative potential of the older A series models.

Texas Sues Broadway Photo for Bait & Switch Scams

November 30, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Don’t Mess With Texas

The State of Texas has just lit up Broadway Photo and Starlight Camera & Video (aka everyprice.com) for their unlawful bait and switch tactics.  Broadway Photo, among others, has long been the bane of consumers who have been unfortunate enough to order a “too good to be true” deal from them only to get suckered into buying an overpriced battery, memory card or some other scam during a “confirmation call”.

If you’ve never had the misfortune of dealing with Broadway Photo, check out Reseller Ratings’ user reviews of them.  And here’s the Reseller Ratings for Starlight Camera & Video.

Granted this is just the beginning of the lawsuit; however, it would be nice to see some of these scam shops shut down.

Check out the actual pleadings and the Texas Attorney General’s press release below. [Read more…]

Nikon D60 Review at Megapixel.net

November 29, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Megapixel.net has posted a review of the Nikon D60.

What’s nice about the D60 is that Nikon didn’t change things about the D40 that worked. The same solid construction is here. The economy of design and outstanding ergonomics are still here, too.

Read Photography Bay’s full review of the Nikon D60 here.
