Steve Huff Gets Up Close with the NEX-7

October 13, 2011 By Eric Reagan

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55Hp7Usun6U  w=640&h=360]

As you can see in the above video, Steve Huff got an up close look at one of the first Sony NEX-7 production models out there.  Notably, there are a lot of similarities between the NEX-7 and the NEX-5N – particularly in the menu system.  Obviously, the additional of external controls sets the NEX-7 somewhat apart, and then, there’s no noticeable clicking noise that plagues the NEX-5N, which may or may not have a fix.  Finally, there’s the whopping 24MP sensor, which seems to produce admirable results based on everything we’ve seen thus far.

Nikon 18-105mm Lens Update?

October 12, 2011 By Eric Reagan

Nikon 18-105mm

Nikon Rumors has been keying in on a new DX format lens for a few weeks now.  It seems like it’s one that won’t go away.  So, as they say, “where there’s smoke, there’s fire.”

Recently, I received word of an updated version of Nikon’s DX 18-105mm VR lens.  I didn’t pass it along because it seemed like an odd lens to update; however, as the rumormill has continued to churn, there could be something to this.  And, the 18-105mm has been a big kit lens for a couple of generations or so of DX format DSLRs.  So, maybe there’s something to it, maybe not.

Feel free to share your thoughts below.  If you have any confirming or denying details on this rumor, feel free to drop a line via the contact form.
