The Canon 6D Mark II has been a very leaky camera. Now, we’ve got photos and leaked specs of the upcoming camera.
The specs confirm basically what we’ve been seeing for awhile now. I think this is looking like one of the best Canon DSLR releases since the Canon 7D.

The new Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM and 24-70mm DG OS HSM lenses that were announced back in February have now received official price tags and are available for pre-order.
The Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art lens retails for $1599, while the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Art lens retails for $1299. Both lenses begin shipping this month, although Nikon shooters will have to wait until July for the 24-70mm lens in their mount.
The savings are noteworthy over first-party brands. For instance, the Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM lens retails for $2099 with a one and third stop handicap to the Sigma lens. Likewise, the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens retails for $1899 and doesn’t offer image stabilization like the Sigma lens.
You can find the Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM lens here at B&H Photo.

In the last rumor update on the Canon 6D Mark II, I was hoping that the 6D Mark II would come in at or below the $2100 price point of the original Canon 6D. New credible info from Canon Rumors reveals that the retail price will be $1,999 when it is officially unveiled next week!
While the 6D Mark II doesn’t look like it has the whiz-bang video features of the 5D Mark IV, it looks like it has some serious chops as a still image shooter. It’s rumored to be a full frame DSLR with a 26MP sensor with a 45-point AF system with all cross-type points.
Of course, the 1080/60p video capture on the full frame sensor is going to do well enough, it’s not quite cutting edge as a 2017 HDSLR. With the updated AF, high-res full frame sensor and sub-$2,000 price, it looks like a well-timed and welcome photography tool at a substantially-discounted price from the state-of-the-art 5D Mark IV.
We should know everything for certain next week on the 6D Mark II’s expected announcement date of June 29.
Stay tuned.

[Update: It’s official. The Tamron 18-400mm lens has been announced. Check it out here.]
The upcoming Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD lens has leaked out ahead of its official launch. I’m a big fan of the Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD lens, which I tested out in my Nikon D7200 Review. But somehow, Tamron has managed to shave a couple millimeters off the wide end and add 100mm onto the long end of this true superzoom DSLR lens! [Read more…]
