Canon remains number one among manufacturers in terms of volume of DSLR and interchangeable lens cameras. This takes into account the mirrorless camera market as well.
Of course, this is based on a Canon survey. I’m not sure what scope and details of that survey were; however, Canon feels good enough about the numbers to claim that it has delivered more DSLR and mirrorless cameras than Nikon, Sony or any other manufacturer.

Canon has dated the new firmware for the Canon 5D Mark III that will provide uncompressed HDMI output at 4:2:2 8-bit and autofocus at f/8. The firmware update should be available later this month on April 30.
More details on the update from the initial announcement last October.
The new Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens is in stock and now shipping here at B&H Photo.
This is the lens that is now included as a kit lens with the Canon Rebel T5i and the Rebel SL1. Based on the performance of past Rebel kit lenses, it may be a bit overpriced at $249… What do you think?
The Canon 70D was previously rumored to be announced next week on April 23. If that is, in fact, the case, we should expect to see lots more leaks and rumors in the next few days. However, confidence for that date is now waning a bit.

The Canon EOS C100 cinema camera has a $1000 instant rebate via B&H. The deal on the body only is listed as expiring later this week, while the C100 kit with 24-105mm lens deal is listed as expiring in June. Check them both out here at B&H Photo.
Canon has released firmware version 1.1.3 for the Canon EOS 6D. The firmware update provides a relatively minor fix that “corrects the phenomenon where date/time settings reset.”

The latest rumors suggest that Canon has a new camera announcement coming on April 23, 2013. While no specific details have leaked out at this point, the Canon 70D seems to be a very likely candidate.
