Promise Technology Unveils Pegasus2 R2+ Thunderbolt 2 RAID Drive w/ Built-in Card Reader

Promise Technology recently unveiled the new Pegasus2 R2+ Thunderbolt 2 RAID Drive. It features 6TB of storage inside and is configurable as RAID 0, RAID 1 or JBOD (“just a bunch of disks”) setups.

The R2+ comes with a media bay with optional pods, including a small form factor 1TB HDD pod, SSD reader and SD/CF card reader pods. Each pod also has USB 3.0 connections for independent use outside of the Pegasus2 R2+ box. [Read more…]

The Nikon D5500 is the latest starter camera in Nikon’s DX line. It is a step up from the D3300 and a step below the D7200. As such, it serves a nice position as an upgrade camera for beginners and a powerful package for enthusiasts.

The D5500 goes head-to-head against the Canon Rebel T6i and Rebel T6s models. In many sections of the spec sheet, the D5500 best the Canon alternatives and rivals even more advanced models. [Read more…]
