LowePro sent over their new Transit 350AW Backpack for review, and I’ve spent the past several weeks with the bag. It’s geared as a flexible solution for both urban and nature adventurer, and comes with a price tag of around $120 as of this writing. Let’s break the bag down… [Read more…]
Benro A38T Classic Aluminum Monopod Review
So I recently purchased the Benro A38T Classic Aluminum Monopod with the S2 head and the fine folks at Photography Bay here were kind enough to let me talk about it.
This monopod is AMAZING, and for the low price tag of $140, I highly recommend that you can hop on over to B&H Photo or Adorama and pick up one of your own. [Read more…]
Nokia Lumia 928 Review
Over the past few weeks, I have been testing the new Nokia Lumia 928 – specifically, the camera portion of the phone. Of course, Apple’s iPhone has been the most used camera in the world for several years now. Apple’s ecosystem of apps is a large part of this, but Android has been pushing hard, and many of the great photography apps are now available on Android.
Enter the Windows Phone, and specifically, those from Nokia. [Read more…]

Canon Rebel T5i Review
The Canon Rebel T5i (aka 700D outside the US) follows the solid Rebel T4i, which followed the solid Rebel T3i, and so on. The thing about about the Rebel series in the recent iterations is that it seems like Canon is getting rather lazy and predictable with its flagship cameras in the Rebel lineup. [Read more…]
Canon EOS M Listed as Discontinued
Adorama is the first retailer that I am aware of to list the Canon EOS M as discontinued. Searching for “EOS M” on Adorama’s site automatically directs you to a page containing discontinued items, and only displays used items. Additionally, the previous product listing for the EOS M now says “We are sorry, this item is no longer available.”
Perhaps the recent $299 fire sale for Canon EOS M kits depleted Adorama’s supply?
B&H and Amazon are currently back-ordered on this kit; however, you can still order at $299.
Additionally, the EOS M kit with 18-55mm lens for $349 is in stock at both B&H and Amazon.
If you have been thinking about picking up one of these very discounted prices, you may not have much time left to find one at all.
Sony A65 Now Available with New Lens

Vanguard TBH-100 Ball Head Review
The Vanguard TBH-100 is a recent ball head from the TBH Series of Vanguard’s line-up. As with most Vanguard products that I have used, it is a rugged and heavy duty piece of gear. [Read more…]
Steadicam Curve Hands-On
Tiffen launched its new Steadicam Curve at NAB 2013. The Curve is designed to work with GoPro HERO cameras.
I stopped by Tiffen’s booth to try out the Steadicam Curve and was instantly impressed with the usability of the device.
The Curve only weighs a half pound and is made to be operated with only one hand. It is the first Steadicam product that I have picked up and instantly felt at ease with it. For those who are intimidated by these stabilizer devices, this would be a great place to start. [Read more…]
