Apple has issued an update to Digital Camera RAW to version 5.06, which adds RAW image compatibility for the following cameras to Aperture 3 and iPhoto ’11.

Well, it looks like a settlement has been reached and D600 owners who were part of the lawsuit now have the chance to trade in their D600 models for a new D610.

Blackmagic Design announced today that DaVinci Resolve 11 is now available for download from the Blackmagic Design website. This is the final version of the softaware after a beta period of just over a month. It is a free upgrade for existing users and the Lite version of the software is available free to all. 4K monitors continue to trickle out as computers and graphics cards come out with better support for these higher resolution displays. Philips’ new 28-inch 4K monitor just became available.
The Philips 288P6LJEB 4K monitor displays a 3840 x 2160 image at 60hz refresh rate with a 1ms response time. It is equipped with HDMI, DisplayPort, Dual-link DVI and VGA SmartConnect ports. Additionally, it features 2 USB 2.0 and 2 USB 3.0 ports for expandability. An integrated MHL port allows you to connect compatible phones and tablets directly to the monitor to mirror content to the display while charging the device at the same time.
The Philips 28″ 4K display retails for $799; however, it is already available at a sale price of $599.99 on Amazon.com.

With the recent news that Apple is killing off Aperture, many users are flocking to Adobe Lightroom, while others are waiting it out to see what Apple has in store with its new Photos app due in OS X 10.10 Yosemite.
In the mean time, Adobe has created a guide for those who are interested in transitioning from Aperture to Lightroom. You can download the guide here on Adobe’s website. While Adobe pushes pretty heavy for the Creative Cloud Photography plan on the page where you find the guide, you can still buy a perpetual license for Lightroom.
