August 17, 2013 By Eric Reagan

Canon 7D Mark II

A couple of the rumors floating around for quite some time now have put it with either a 20MP sensor (like the one found in the Canon 70D) and a 24MP sensor (previously unseen). Now, a new rumor, which seems to make sense of these conflicting rumors, puts both sensors in various prototypes of the Canon 7D Mark II that are believed to be floating around in the wild.

The most recent spec list for the 7D Mark II with 24MP sensor is below. [Read more…]

August 15, 2013 By Eric Reagan

Impact VSD300

The Impact VSD300 monolight and softbox kit is an all-inclusive lighting kit that contains the basics of what you need for an indoor 2-light studio setup.

The kit includes the following:

  • (2) 300 w/s VSD300 monolights
  • (2) 24×32″ softboxes
  • (2) reflectors
  • (2) sync cords
  • (2) 8′ stands

At the time of this review, the full kit is available for $458.95 from B&H Photo. Just looking over the basic specs of what’s included and it is apparent that this is a good deal of gear for a rather small price.

Canon Medium Format Rumors Still Churning

August 14, 2013 By Eric Reagan

Canon Medium Format Rumors

A fews after the Canon/Phase One medium format rumors surfaced, we now have a gaggle of confirmations and denials about such a camera. One source noted that Canon was certainly going to make it happen and the Canon medium format move would get a very big announcement at Photokina 2014.

Nothing concrete has surfaced anywhere in the rumor mill. At this point, we are still waiting for something more solid to come along.

If you’ve got something to share, please reach out via the contact form.
