Red Giant recently launched ‘Tempo,’ which is a clever short film that highlights what’s possible with its video software suites.
Trapcode Suite 12, Magic Bullet Suite and just about every other tool in Red Giant’s tool kit were used to make this short. More details available on Red Giant’s website.
GoPro’s mobile app is now available for use with GoPro HERO3 cameras. The app lets you control your HERO3 cameras’ settings + features. Additionally, you can live preview your shots for easier framing.
A software update for the HERO3 White and Silver Edition cameras is required before using the GoPro app. You can find that update here on GoPro’s website.
The GoPro iOS app can be downloaded here on the iTunes App Store. The GoPro Android app can be downloaded here on the Google Play Store.

Fotodiox recently launched the WonderBurst HSS8000 4-in-1 Radio Slave Trigger, which is a 1/8000 high-speed sync wireless remote flash trigger that Fotodiox claims is compatible with any camera flash or strobe.
The transmitter plugs into the camera to learn the camera’s specific delay time, which Fotodiox says allows it to get ahead of the second curtain sync, or the sync delay that most cameras have. As a result, the WonderBurst HSS8000 then removes flash sync limitations and will also work as a camera remote for AF remote triggering, continuous shooting and bulb mode.

Adorama has been a roll lately with new products in its Flashpoint line. The latest announcement is the new Flashpoint DG600 300 w/s monolight that uses LEDs for its built-in modeling light. The LED modeling light ensures cool operation, as opposed to the toasty tungsten modeling lamps that most of us are accustomed to. [Read more…]
Canon has issued a firmware update for the Canon 6D, which “Fixes a phenomenon which prevents movie files shot using Canon EOS 6D Digital SLR cameras from being played back on YouTube.”

Adobe has released final versions of Lightroom 4.3 and Camera Raw 7.3, which are now available on Adobe.com. The update adds HiDPI support within the Lightroom Library and Develop modules for the MacBook Pro w/ Retina Display and includes additional raw file format support for 20 new cameras.

The HDRI Handbook 2.0 is a new book from Christian Bloch that updates the original HDRI Handbook from 2007. It is a 672 beast of a book covering all things HDR.
