Sony revealed today at PMA 2010 that it will refresh several models in the Alpha DSLR line with new, Full HD AVCHD-capable models. Among those cameras to be refreshed is the Sony A700, which Sony Alpha enthusiasts have been anxiously awaiting for some time now. Today at PMA 2010, Sony unveiled plans for a new Alpha mount APS format camera featuring a mirrorless body. The new camera looks and operates much like the Olympus E-PL1; however, Sony is quick to point out that the APS format sensor is significantly larger than the Micro Four Thirds sensor. [Read more…]
The Casio EX-S7 and EX-Z35 are two 12.1MP point and shoot announced at PMA 2010. Additionally, Casio has brought the popular EX-FC150 to North America.
The Casio EX-S7 features a 3x optical zoom, 720p HD video capture and a 2.7-inch LCD. The EX-S7 should be available in Spring 2010 at an initial retail price of $139.99. Check availability on Amazon.com.
The Casio EX-Z35 features a 3x optical zoom, VGA video capture and a 2.5-inch LCD. The EXZ35 should be available in March 2010 at an initial retail price of $109.99. Check availability on Amazon.com.

At PMA 2010, Sigma has continued to tease us with another introduction of the SD15 DSLR. The SD15 will contain a revamped version of the 14MP Foveon X3 CMOS sensor found in the SD14. It captures 12-bit RAW files, has a continuous shooting speed of 3 fps, and a 5-point AF system.
No word yet on price or availability, other than “hopefully very soon” per a Sigma rep I spoke with at PMA.

The Sigma DP2s was announced at PMA 2010. The compact camera is a slightly refreshed version of the DP2 and features a 14MP Foveon X3 CMOS image sensor, RAW image capture and a 24mm f/2.8 lens. Sigma’s Photo Pro Version 4 software ships with the DP2s.
The Sigma DP1x was announced at PMA 2010 today. The DP1x is a refreshed version of the original DP1, freaturing the large CMOS sensor and the TRUE II image processing engine found in the DP2 and upcoming SD15.

The Samsung TL500 (aka EX1) is a 10MP point and shoot camera with a 1/1.7-inch CCD image sensor, a 3x zoom f/1.8 lens and a 3-inch AMOLED swivel display. The TL500 supports RAW file capture and offers optical image stabilization.
The Samsung TL500 should be available in Spring 2010 at an initial retail price of $449.99.
The Samsung TL350 is a 10.2MP point and shoot camera which features a CMOS sensor and 1080p video capture, as well as a number of high-speed video capture modes up to 1000 fps. The TL350 offers RAW file capture, a 5x optical zoom lens, optical image stabilization, full manual control and 3-inch AMOLED display.
