Contour+2 Action Cam Now Available

The new Contour+2 action cam is available now. The new camera features iOS integration, allowing you to start/stop the recording or adjust camera settings from your iPhone/iPad. It ships will a waterproof case that lets you take the camera down to 197′ underwater.

The Contour+2 captures full HD at 24p/30p – and will even capture 854 x 480p video at 120fps; however, that’s still a far cry from Sony’s new action cams that will capture 720p HD video as 120 fps. That said, Contour cameras’ functionality and solid GPS features (in the new Contour+2) offer a lot of value in a somewhat unique package.

GoPro Killer? New Sony Action Cams Shoot 720p HD Video at 120fps

The new Sony HDR-AS10 and HDR-AS15 are new Action Cams aimed at the GoPro crowd. The compact cameras shoot 1080p HD video 30fps; however, they also have the ability to capture 720p HD video at either 30fps, 60fps or even 120fps for some great slow motion effects in a very compact package. JVC’s New Action Cam

JVC has a new action cam to compete with GoPro. It’s the JVC GC-XA1 Adixxion.

It features 1080/30p and 720/60p video capture, a 1.5″ LCD and a 5x zoom. It will also capture 5MP still images and includes built-in Wi-Fi and a wireless smartphone link.

The camera should be available in August for $350. Check availability at B&H Photo.
