Samsung WB210 and PL210

The Samsung WB210 and PL210 are new 14MP point and shoot cameras.

The Samsung WB210 features a 12x optical zoom lens (24-288mm equivalent) with the ability to enable a super wide angle mode that locks the lens at 21mm.  The WB210 also features a 3.5-inch touch screen display with Samsung’s new Smart Access UI system and the ability to capture 720p HD videos.  The WB210 should be available in February 2011 at an initial retail price of $279.99.  Check availability on Amazon.com.

The Samsung PL210 features a 10x optical zoom lens (27-270mm equivalent), a 3-inch LCD and 720p HD video capture.  The PL210 should be availalbe in February 2011 at an initial retail price of $199.99.  Check availability on Amazon.com.

Samsung ST700, PL170 and PL120

The Samsung ST700, PL170 and PL120 are new dual screen point and shoot cameras introduced at CES 2011.  The ST700 features a 1.8-inch front panel LCD, while the PL170 and PL120 offer 1.5-inch front panel LCDs.

The ST700 features a 16.1MP sensor, 5x optical zoom with optical image stabilization, and a 3-inch touch screen display.  The ST700 should be available in March 2011 at an initial retail price of $279.99.  Check availability on Amazon.com.

The Samsung PL170 also packs a 16.1MP sensor and 5x optical zoom with optical image stabilization, but its 3-inch LCD is not a touch screen interface.  The PL170 should be available in March 2011 at an initial retail price of $199.99.  Check availability on Amazon.com.

The PL120 is the entry-level dual screen model with a 14.2MP sensor, 5x optical zoom (digital stabilization only), and a 2.7-inch rear LCD screen.  The PL120 should be available in March 2011 at an initial retail price of $149.99.  Check availability on Amazon.com.

Panasonic Lumix FP7 and FP5

The Panasonic Lumix FP7 and FP5 are new ultra-compact cameras introduced at CES 2011.  The FP7 features a 16.1MP sensor and 3.5-inch touchscreen display, while the FP5 sports a 14.1MP sensor and 3-inch touchscreen LCD.  Both cameras have a 4x optical zoom lens and capture 720p HD video.  Prices and availability will be announced at a later date.

Panasonic Lumix FH27 and FH25

The Panasonic Lumix FH27 and FH25 are new 16.1MP cameras featuring 8x optical zoom lenses.  The FH27 has a 3-inch touchscreen LCD, while the FH25 features a non-touch 2.7-inch LCD.  Both cameras allow capture of 720p HD video.  Price and release dates will be announced at a later date.

Panasonic Lumix S3 and S1

The Panasonic Lumix S3 and S1 are a pair of new compact cameras introduced at CES 2011.  The Lumix S3 features a 14.1MP sensor, 4x optical zoom lens with image stabilization, and the ability to capture 720p HD video.  The Lumix S1 offers the same 4x zoom lens with image stabilization and 720p video capture, but steps down to a 12.1MP sensor.

Olympus XZ-1

The Olympus XZ-1 is a 10MP point and shoot camera with 4x optical zoom lens and a retro-inspired style. The 4x zoom lens provides a 35mm equivalent zoom range of 28-112mm and a bright f/1.8 aperture at the wide end.

The XZ-1 can capture 720p HD video at 30 fps and RAW-format still images.  The camera features a sensor-shift image stabilization system, with electronic image stabilization applied during video capture.  The XZ-1 also sports a 3-inch OLED monitor with a high 614k resolution.

The Olympus XZ-1 should be available in January 2011 at an initial retail price of $499.99.  Check availability on Amazon.com.
