Panasonic officially took the wraps off the AG-AF100A cinema camcorder today as an update to the (now discontinued) AF100. Key improvements (albeit, slight) include 10-bit 4:2:2 output, expanded focus assist and 2.39:1 cinema scope markers. Additionally, the AF100A now offers AVCHD 2.0 and a full-fledged 1080/60p mode.

Flashpoint 500C LED Dimmable Light Review

December 31, 2012 By Eric Reagan

Flashpoint 500C LED Light

The Flaspoint 500C LED dimmable light is a rather compact and affordable LED solution from Adorama. The light features 500 individual LED bulbs – 250 of which are daylight balanced and 250 of which are tungsten balanced.

The two sets of LED bulbs are controlled by two independent dimmer knobs. As a result, you have a fully dimmable light and a variable color temperature light. Both are pretty cool features for a $200 video light. [Read more…]

Canon 6D Product Advisory Issued

December 6, 2012 By Eric Reagan

Canon has issued a product advisory for the Canon 6D relating to the inability for movies shot on the 6D to playback on YouTube. This appears to be aimed at users who pull a card out of their camera and upload directly to YouTube.

The fix (for now) is to save the file via ImageBrowser EX and then upload to YouTube. If you already go through an editing and exporting process for your HDSLR videos, then you don’t need to worry about this problem.

More details in the full product advisory below. [Read more…]
