GE Micro Four Thirds Cameras Coming Soon?

April 5, 2011 By Eric Reagan

GE Digital Cameras looks to be adding Micro Four Thirds to its growing lineup of cameras.  If a report from CNet Asia is accurate, we could see GE-branded Micro Four Thirds cameras by the end of the year.

For those unfamiliar with GE Digital Cameras, General Imaging Company is actually the company that makes and sells GE Digital Cameras subject to a brand-licensing agreement with General Electric (the company that owns the ‘GE’ trademark).  Obviously, General Electric has at least some marginal oversight of the products and the use of its brand, but the actual company that is making and selling the cameras is a camera company. Olympus E-PL2

January 8, 2011 By Eric Reagan

The Olympus E-PL2 was announced earlier this week at CES 2011.  As the name suggests, the Micro Four Thirds format E-PL2 is a follow-up to the popular E-PL1.

The E-PL2 features a 12.3MP sensor, max sensitivity of ISO 6400, 3-inch LCD (460k dot resolution) and Olympus’ signature Art Filters for creative photo processing in-camera.  The  E-PL2 should be available in January 2011 and ships with a 14-42mm kit lens for $599.99.  Check availability on Amazon.com.

Olympus E-PL2 Rumored for CES 2011

December 29, 2010 By Eric Reagan

With CES 2011 coming up next week, the rumor mill is picking up for new camera models to be released at or around the show.  Near the top of the rumor list is an Olympus E-PL2 with a new high-res display, sensitivity up to ISO 6400 and a direct video record button.

If the above image is the real deal, it looks quite similar (if not a little sleeker) to the popular Olympus E-PL1, for which this new camera should serve as a direct replacement.  Let’s hope they add in a peppier autofocus too…
