Olympus E-M1 and 12-40mm f/2.8 Image Leaks Out

More leaks for the upcoming Olympus E-M1…

This time we a treated with an overhead view of the E-M1 with the 12-40mm f/2.8 lens attached.  Although, this is not part of the official Olympus teaser.

The 12-40mm f/2.8 lens will result in an effective zoom range of 24-80mm thanks to the 2x crop from the Micro Four Thirds sensor.

The Olympus E-M1 is rumored to be priced at $1500, which is $500 more than the Olympus E-M5 body. [Read more…]

Olympus Teases New E-M1 Mirrorless Camera

Olympus has launched a teaser campaign for the upcoming E-M1 Micro Four Thirds camera that has been rumored for some time now.

The new teaser is viewable on Olympus’ website with the subtitle: Coming soon. A camera as revolutionary as you are.

Nanoha Macro Extension Tubes Released

Japanese Lens Maker Yasuhara, just released a new pair of Nanoha Macro Extension Tubes.

Extension tubes basically allow users to turn interchangeable lenses into macro lenses; making it ideal for those just getting into macro photography or those looking for a more cost effective alternative to spending the big bucks on a new macro lens. It comes in a set, which includes a 10 mm and a 16 mm extension tube so it can be used individually or stacked together.

The new Nanoha Macro Extension Tubes retail for $159 for the pair and are available in Micro Four Thirds mount and Sony E-mount. Check them out here at B&H Photo.

Panasonic GX7 Images and Specs Leak Out

And now, it appears the official images and specs of the GX7 have made their way online and the camera will feature the 16MP sensor that I previously expected to see in the camera. Panasonic Lumix G 20mm f/1.7 II ASPH. Lens Released

Panasonic 17mm Version II Lens

Last week, Panasonic quietly introduced an updated 20mm f/1.7 lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras. The original version of this lens was well-regarded throughout its lifespan and served as a solid walkaround lens with its 40mm equivalent field of view.

The new 20mm f/1.7 II APSH. lens should be available in black or silver finishes next month for $399. It is currently available for pre-order here at B&H Photo.
