Pentax has announced its latest Q-mount camera – the Q7. The leading spec from Pentax is that the Q7 will be available in 120 color combinations.
Aesthetics aside, the Q7 features a 12.4MP 1/1.7″ backlit CMOS sensor and captures 1080p HD video at 24p or 30p. Additionally, the Q7 sports a 3-inch LCD at 460k-dot res and a max ISO 12,800 sensitivity setting. [Read more…]
I know all of you have been waiting so long to get your hands on a Hasselblad Lunar, so you’ll be glad to know that the Lunar has started shipping in the US for an insane price of $7000.
In case you have missed my previous rants, the Lunar is essentially a glorified Sony NEX-7 with a reworked body and controls from Hasselblad and a bloated price tag. You can pick up one (or two) for yourself here at Amazon.com.

Canon has released a new lens for the EOS M system. The Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens becomes the third lens in the EF-M series – accompanied by the 18-55mm standard zoom and 22mm f/2 lenses that were released alongside the original EOS M camera last summer (read our Canon EOS M review).
On the APS-C sensor of the EOS M, the new 11-22mm lens provides the full frame equivalent coverage of roughly 18-35mm. Of course, as you can tell from the lens name acronyms, it features built-in image stabilization (Canon cites 3-stop shutter speed advantage) and the new STM motor for quite operation during video capture.
The EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens has a .15m minimum focus distance and features a retractable lens design, along with a manual focus ring.

When Leica first teased the Mini M, I was ready to bet big on an APS-C mirrorless camera that accepts M-mount lenses. Then came the supposed leak that everyone pretty much took as gospel. It sure looked legit anyway.
The latest tease on the Leica website, however, casts doubt on the previous “leak” of the Mini M, which purportedly revealed its specs with a fixed lens in the 18-46mm range and a rather slow variable aperture of f/3.5-6.4. Leica has its upcoming ‘Mini M’ camera listed on its website now. The ‘Mini M’ name appears to be where it fits in the lineup among Leica cameras, rather than the official model name.
No other information is known about the Mini M at this point; however, the logical conclusion would be that the Leica Mini M would be a rangerfinder-style, interchangeable lens, APS-C camera as a nice fit between the full frame Leica M and the fixed lens, APS-C Leica X2. Leica offers a newsletter signup on its website for future Mini M news.
