Panasonic FH7 Priced and Dated

The recently announced Panasonic Lumix FH7 will carry a retail price tag of $179.99 and be available in July 2011.  The FH7 sports a 16.1MP sensor, a touch screen display and a Leica 4x optical zoom lens.  It addition to shooting stills, it will capture 720p video at 24 fps.

New Panasonic Lumix Sighted, Possible GF3 Inbound?

Behind the scenes photos from what looks like a Panasonic Lumix promo shoot surfaced on YouTube.  Photo Rumors went to the trouble of analyzing the video for new cameras and spotted what could the the new Panasonic Lumix GF3, which is sporting a big hump atop the ever-shrinking body of this camera line.

Leica V-Lux 30

Leica has unveiled its V-Lux 30 point and shooter, which sports a 14.1MP sensor, a 16x optical zoom (24-384mm equivalent) and the ability to capture 1080i AVCHD video.

The Leica V-Lux 30 is essentially a clone of the Panasonic Lumix ZS10. Other than the cosmetic differences in the two cameras, the only thing separating them is about $400.  The V-Lux 30 retails for $749, while the middle-class Panasonic ZS10 retails for $399 (although the street price is now under $350).

Check availability for the V-Lux 30 on Amazon.com if you’re really itching to pay twice as much for a Leica logo.

Panasonic LUMIX FH7

The Panasonic FH7 is a new compact point and shoot camera with a 16.1MP sensor and a Leica 4x optical zoom lens.  The FH7 sports a 3-inch touchscreen LCD and can capture 720p video at 24fps.

As typical with Panasonic compact camera announcements, there is no word on price or availability dates.  However, availability within the next couple of months would be expected.  You can check availability on Amazon.com.

Panasonic LUMIX G3

The Panasonic LUMIX G3 is a new 16MP Micro Four Thirds camera that can capture 1920 x 1080 HD video in AVCHD.

The G3 offers a sensitivity range of ISO 160-6400 and a capture rate of 4 frames per second.  The G3 has a 3″ articulating touchscreen LCD monitor, as well as an electronic viewfinder.

The Panasonic LUMIX G3 should be available in June at an initial retail price of $699.99 with a 14-42mm kit lens and $599.99 for the body only.  Check availability on Amazon.com and B&H Photo.

Panasonic HDC-TM90 Camcorder Review

The Panasonic HDC-TM90 is a Full HD camcorder that sports touch screen input and a 40x zoom.  The TM90 is capable of shooting 1920 x 1080 footage a full 60p frame rate.  It has 16GB of internal storage, along with an SDXC card slot for additional storage.

Atomos Ninja Hands-On

I checked out a lot of cool new stuff at NAB 2011; however, one of the coolest pieces of tech that I got up close with was the new Atomos Ninja HDMI-based recorder.  In short, the Atomos Ninja captures the uncompressed stream from your camera’s HDMI output.  The stream is captured as Apple ProRes HQ in a much higher quality than what goes through your camera’s compression onto the CF or SD card. Japan Earthquake Effect on Camera Manufacturers

DxO Optics Pro v6.5.4 Adds Support for Olympus E-PL2, Panasonic LX5 and Sony A580

DxO Labs has announced the availability of DxO Optics Pro v6.5.4, which adds RAW image processing support for the Olympus E-PL2, Panasonic LX5 and Sony A580.  Additionally, the new version adds 69 new optics modules for a number of other camera models.
