Adobe CS6 Ship Date is May 7, 2012

I have confirmed that Adobe CS6 products will ship and be available for download on May 7, 2012.

  • CS6 Ship Date (English, Americas, and European versions): May 7, 2012
  • CS6 Ship Date (Rest of the world): May 10, 2012

Pre-orders for Adobe CS6 products are available direct from Adobe here.

Upgrades to CS6 from other CS products are only available from Adobe here.

CS6 Student & Teacher editions are available from the Adobe Education Site.

Adobe Creative Cloud Launches, Gives You All CS6 Programs for $50/mo

Adobe Creative Cloud

Adobe Creative Cloud has finally launched with a subscription model for Creative Suite apps and cloud integration across many apps. The launch event will be streaming live today at 10AM PT / 1PM ET and is viewable here on Adobe’s site.

Creative Cloud will offer users access to all of the Creative Suite applications, including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects and Illustrator for as low as $49.99 per month if you commit to a one year subscription.  An introductory offer is available for existing individual users at $29.99/mo.

Of course, you can still purchase the retail products as well.  Production Premium CS6 runs $1899, Photoshop CS6 is $699 and Photoshop CS6 Extended is $999.

Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CS6 Extended Launched, Available for Pre-Order

Adobe has officially launched Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CS6 Extended.  For those who have been playing with the beta for the past month or so, you kinda know what you are getting into.

Photoshop CS6 retails for $699, while Photoshop CS6 Extended retails for $999.  Additionally, Photoshop CS6 will be available via Creative Cloud subscription for as little as $49.95/mo. for the full Creative Suite.  Adobe will be holding a launch event today, April 23, at 10AM PT/1PM ET here online.

Pre-orders for Photoshop CS6 are already available on Adobe’s website and at B&H Photo.

Adobe Revel 1.2

Adobe Revel 1.2 adds several new features:

  • Support for the Retina Display on the new iPad
  • Ability to tag photos with an Event name, and filter your library by Events
  • Grid View which displays photos from a single day or event
  • Ability to share, export and delete multiple photos at once
  • Flexible adjustment to photo date and time stamps
  • Faster editing on iPad and iPhone

Adobe Production Premium CS6 Coming to NAB 2012

Adobe will unveil Production Premium CS6 at NAB 2012 next week.  Production Premium CS6 wil feature the following products from Adobe:

  • Premiere Pro
  • After Effects
  • Audition
  • Story
  • Media Encoder
  • Photoshop
  • SpeedGrade
  • Prelude

The new SpeedGrade CS6 was teased in late 2011 on Adobe TV with very little about it revealed since then.  SpeedGrade will be a pro grading tool, while Prelude is a new solution for the process of ingest, logging and transcoding.

Lightroom 4.1 Release Candidate Now Available

Photoshop Lightroom: From Snapshots to Great Shots is a new book from Jeff Revell.  The book covers Lightroom 4 editing; however, Jeff says he wrote the book with the notion in mind that Lightroom version 2 and 3 users would still be able to take advantage of the information.

Editing Video in Photoshop CS6

Take a look at the above video, which was completely edited in Photoshop (CS6 maybe?).

Right now, you can edit videos in Photoshop CS5 Extended.  I’ve done it in the past even with plug-ins applied to video footage.  However, if I can get the look I’m after in Premiere Pro or After Effects, I’m going to do that because the process is more streamlined (for now).
