Canon’s big tease has sparked a lot of commentary and speculation about what’s coming on its November 3rd announcement. While there are sure to be plenty of rumors, and maybe some leaks as we lead up to the big date, a GTC forum member apparently claimed to see the camera and its specs.
The rumored specs include two mount options – Canon EF mount and a PL mount. Additionally, the leakster claims that the camera sports a Super35 4K sensor.

Sony has just released details on its new professional grade NEX camcorder – the NEX-FS100. This new camcorder is the big brother to the popular NEX-VG10 and accepts all E-Mount lenses, as well as A-Mount lenses with the use of an adapter.
The Sony NEX-FS100 sports an APS-C / Super35mm format sensor and is capable of recording 1920 x 1080 60p at 28Mbps. The NEX-FS100 will also capture at 30p and 24p frame rates – and it offers the ability to shoot with a proper 1/48s shutter speed when recording 24p video. The Ikan Elements Starter Fly Kit is a compact and affordable (around $100) HDSLR rig. While this kit is basic, it is surprisingly effective and will deliver enough performance for many HDSLR users who want to get some more stability out of their handheld work.

Olympus has announced the SZ-30MR, which touts the ability to simultaneously capture 1080p HD video and full resolution still images. The SZ-30MR features a 16MP CMOS sensor and 24x optical zoom (25-600mm equivalent). The new superzoom features built-in, sensor-shift image stabilization and sports a 3-inch LCD at 460k-dot resolution.
The SZ-30MR should be available in April at an initial retail price of $399.99. Check availability on Amazon.com.

While working on the Nikon D7000 review, I put together this little video of some high ISO clips at a local aquarium. I believe all of these clips were at either ISO 3200 or ISO 6400.
As you’ll learn in the coming review, the D7000 is a little more cumbersome than its Canon counterparts for video work due to the funky aperture controls; however, it still fares quite well in the final output video. For now, check out the video below. [Read more…]
In the above video from Beet.TV, Vice President & Director of Associated Press Broadcasting News, Kevin Roach, talks about writers taking on video projects and photographers adding the 5D Mark II to their arsenal in order to tell a story beyond a single frame.
No doubt the 5D Mark II is a game changer; however, Roach’s commentary on the AP’s approach to news gathering and what this new era of DSLRs has done for the AP is interesting nonetheless.
