Project X27: Export Final Cut Pro X Projects to FCP 7

It looks like the folks over at Intelligent Assistance have figured out a way to translate FCP X projects into FCP 7 timelines.  Project X?7 is a $50 XML translator that takes your FCP X XML file and translates it into something that FCP 7 can understand.  Once in FCP 7, you can then take your project to a number of different applications, including Premiere Pro, which is the gateway to Dynamic Link with After Effects and other Adobe apps.

Canon Hollywood Professional Technology and Support Center Opens

Canon Hollywood Announcement

If there was any doubt as to what kind of product Canon is launching on November 3, it should be gone now.  Canon just announced that it has opened a pro technology and support center in Hollywood “to better serve its film and television production clients.”

The new support center is located on the Sunset Gower Studio lot at 6060 Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles.

Sony Launches F65 CineAlta Camera, Available January

Initially unveiled at NAB back in April, Sony has officially launched its F65 CineAlta camera, which offers 4K resolution captured to 16 bit Linear RAW files. These massive files will chew up plenty of storage – with 60 minutes taking up 1TB, or 1 minute using 17GB of storage space.  [Read more…]
