The Yashuhara Nanoha x5 macro lens is available for Micro Four Thirds and Sony NEX cameras. The 5:1 magnification of this little lens is incredible. The iSupport is a $49 iPhone camera rig, which basically gives you better handling and mounting options. It can handle a bare iPhone or an iPhone in a case. It also has a 1/4-20 thread on the bottom for tripod or heavier duty rig mounting.

The newest addition to Varavon’s Slidecam lineup are the aptly-named Lite800 and Lite600. I stopped by the Varavon booth at NAB 2012 to get a closer look at these new sliders. The sliders are very smooth and a great selection of mounting options. I’m hoping to get more time with them soon for a more in-depth look. In the mean time, check out the overview video below.

No Film School put together a handy little comparison of the 5D Mark II, 5D Mark III and Nikon D800 in video mode. They walk through the ISO stops way up to the high end. Check out the video below.
Nikon is recalling some EN-EL15 batteries (with specific serial numbers noted below). The Nikon EN-EL15 battery is used in the Nikon D7000, D800, D800E and Nikon 1 V1 cameras.

Now that we’re through the gauntlet of camera releases over the past few months, I suppose it’s time to fuel the fires for the next round for Summer and Fall 2012. What could be better to kick up the rumor mill than a book listing for the Nikon D400 on Amazon?

I stopped by Olympus’ booth at NAB 2012 to get a closer look at the i-Speed PL camera. It captures 2000fps at 720p and retails for around $40k.

Sony FS700
The Sony FS700 is one camera that I was really looking forward to checking out up close and personal at NAB 2012. As you can tell from the images, it looks and feels a lot like the FS100. The indiSLIDER is a camera slider that I’ve been intrigued with after seeing its ridiculously low prices online a few months back. I had my doubts about how smooth such a cheap product would actually perform. Those doubts were alleviated after handling a few samples on the NAB 2012 show floor.
While it’s still not a high-end product from the likes of Kessler and such, it performs amazingly well for the price. Check out the video below for a little overview of the indiSLIDER system.
