Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G FX Lens Coming in January

Nikon AF-S 35mm f/1.8G DX Lens
New rumors suggest that Nikon will announce a 35mm f/1.8 lens for FX format cameras for CES 2014. This lens would serve as a complement to the 35mm f/1.8G DX lens (pictured above) and sit under the higher-end 35mm f/1.4G FX lens. It also may mark the end of the old 35mm f/2D, but I doubt the price stays around the $360 mark of the 35mm f/2.

Canon EOS 70D Review
The Canon 70D follows a long line of mid-range prosumer DSLRs that has been a decade in the making. The Canon xxD started way back in February 2003 when the 10D was introduced as a replacement for the D60. Canon has gradually updated these cameras over the years – with some years seeing larger jumps than others.
In 2010, the Canon 60D introduced HD video capture into the line and the 70D certainly steps up that game even further. At the same time, the 70D takes the still image capacity of the line a serious step further as well. [Read more…]

The Senal SMH-1000 studio headphones have the look and feel of the Sony MDR-7506 headphones, which pretty much set the standard for professional monitoring headphones in the sub-$100 range. Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD Lens Coming in January
Tamron’s new new 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DI VC USD lens that is set to replace the current 200-500mm version will be available in the US on January 17, 2014. Tamron still hasn’t released pricing on the new lens; however, I would expect it to come in higher than the $949 street price of the existing 200-500mm lens.
Tamron offers a little more detail into the build of the lens with its latest press release.
Employing 20 elements in 13 groups and boasting an advanced optical design, the lens delivers a superior balance of resolution and contrast for sharp, clear images. The front group contains three LD (Low Dispersion) glass elements (two in the first group, one in the third) for enhanced optical correction effectiveness, enabling the lens to thoroughly compensate for on-axis aberrations at the telephoto end. The lens also adopts eBAND Coating, developed from state-of-the-art coating technologies, and conventional BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) Coating to greatly suppress ghosting and flare even when shooting under adverse lighting conditions.
The new 150-600mm lens is already listed at B&H Photo for Canon, Nikon and Sony mounts; however, as noted above, there is no pricing info as of yet.
