October 5, 2011 By Eric Reagan

Canon Legends in Imaging Invite

Canon’s recent teaser for an October 26 EOS/PIXMA event will include the launch of something called “Legends in Imaging.”  No specifics are know about this event, except that it will take place on the eve of the PhotoPlus trade show in New York – and that Canon likes the phrase “Exactly as you envisioned.”

What do you envision for this?

October 3, 2011 By Eric Reagan

Nikon D700

Just as I was ready to dismiss the previous rumor of a 36MP-shooting Nikon D800, Nikon Rumors heard from its sources and confirmed this replacement for the still-hard-to-find Nikon D700 is (99%) real and will be unveiled in the next 30-60 days.

More Canon Video Camera Rumors for Nov. 3

October 3, 2011 By Eric Reagan

Canon November 3

Speculation surrounding Canon’s November 3 announcement continues to be a big topic of conversation (just what Canon wanted, right?).  Canon Rumors received another tip with a couple of vague specs.

The tipster claims a video camera with a Super 35 sensor (roughly APS-C sized), compact flash recording and 3 new lenses announced alongside the camera.  While that’s not much to go on, the new lenses makes a lot of sense – particularly in light of my review of Canon’s recent patent application for video-optimized EF lenses that feature an aperture ring.

One month from today, we’ll know for sure.  In the mean time, stay tuned for the latest.  And if you have any insight into what’s coming next feel free to drop a line via the contact form and let me know.

Adobe Lightroom or Apple Aperture?

Adobe Lightroom vs. Aperture Lightroom

If you are regular reader here, you may have picked up on the fact that I use Adobe Lightroom almost exclusively as an editor for RAW images.  I’m curious as to how Photography Bay’s readers break down between the two big third-party RAW editing apps – Adobe Lightroom and Apple Aperture.

Hit the poll below and let us know which you use. [Read more…]
