Mac OS X 10.6.7 Update Resolves Photoshop CS5 Bugs

March 23, 2011 By Eric Reagan

Photoshop CS5

The recent update for OS X fixes a conflict with Photoshop CS5 in OS X versions 10.6.5 and 10.6.6.

One or more of the following issues occur when you use Photoshop CS5 after updating Mac OS to 10.6.5 or 10.6.6:

  • The warning, “Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?” appears when you open Photoshop.
  • The startup screen reads White Rabbit, instead of Photoshop CS5, and looks different.
  • Tools behave as if the Shift or Option keys are pressed.
  • Your cursor remains the plug sign (+).

Upgrading to OS X version 10.6.7 should resolve these problems.  You can upgrade to 10.6.7 by clicking on “Software Update” from the Apple menu in OS X.

March 22, 2011 By Eric Reagan

Have you ever looked at those buttons on the back of your flash and wondered what exactly that they do?  What about understanding flash exposure compensation?  Or, high speed sync?  Want to dim the sun?

Hargrave gives a good description of how he handled the media in post on his Vimeo page.

New Sony Full Frame Camera in 2012?

March 22, 2011 By Eric Reagan

Sony A850 and A900

As Sony continues to tease the coming A700-replacement camera (presumed to be called the A77), rumors are building for a full-frame camera to follow-up the 24.6MP Sony A900 and A850.  Sony Alpha Rumors writes that its “trusted sources” have indicated an “amazing” full frame camera will be available from Sony in 2012.

Additional comments suggest that the full frame camera will use the translucent mirror technology found in the Sony A33 and A55.  Of course, the new A77 model will feature the translucent mirror; however, putting a full frame sensor behind the translucent mirror will be a first for Sony.  Given the recent developments with Sony’s SLT models, we should expect the coming full frame model to also capture at least 1080p HD video using AVCHD compression.
