Canon 6D Mark II Review at DP Review

August 10, 2017 By Eric Reagan

DP Review has published its in-depth review of the new Canon 6D Mark II. It praises the camera for its high image quality capability; however, it finds that the 6D Mark II falls well short of the competition:

The only thing that makes the EOS 6D II stand out is Dual Pixel AF, which turns out is only of real value in this camera when shooting single shots of slow-moving subjects or HD video.

I still want to give the camera a go myself but the dynamic range results are incredibly dissapointing to me. I just expected more out of this camera, which seems to echo DP Review’s sentiments in its review. You can read the full review here at DP Review.

First Look at the RED Hydrogen One Holographic Smartphone

August 4, 2017 By Eric Reagan

MKBHD posted an exclusive first look and hands-on with the RED Hydrogen One smartphone (embedded above). What we got about a month ago were incredible feature bulletpoints and a single rendered image of the phone. Now, we are getting to see quite a bit more in this video with a full mockup of what the phone should look like when comes to market.

What we don’t see is what exactly the holographic display looks like. We see Marques’ reaction and he seems to be impressed. However, the device he’s viewing is much larger than the compact mockup he’s holding at the beginning of the video. According to Marques, RED expects to have a working prototype to show off in the next couple of months.
