OWC has a new 480GB SSD drive that serves as an internal hard drive upgrade for the MacBook Pro Retina. The Aura Pro is available as a single replacement drive or with the Envoy Pro kit that features an enclosure with USB 3.0 connectivity for putting the original drive that you’re replacing and using it as an external drive.

The Flaspoint 500C LED dimmable light is a rather compact and affordable LED solution from Adorama. The light features 500 individual LED bulbs – 250 of which are daylight balanced and 250 of which are tungsten balanced.
The two sets of LED bulbs are controlled by two independent dimmer knobs. As a result, you have a fully dimmable light and a variable color temperature light. Both are pretty cool features for a $200 video light. [Read more…]

They were cheap, easy to replace, and very easy to find when out on a shoot. But I realized I was throwing them away as fast as I was buying them. CustomSLR announced the ProDot shutter button upgrade last month. The ProDot is a textured, press-on dot that adheres to the shutter button in order to provide finite control and finger-padding.
CustomSLR funded the development of ProDot through Kickstarter and met its funding goal in the first 72 hours of the project. The ProDot is now available to buy in packs of two for $9.95 on CustomSLR’s website.

Polaroid appears to be set to launch a new mirrorless camera at CES 2013, the iM1386, that will be powered by the Android operating system and bear a striking stylistic resemblance to the Nikon 1 J2.
