Amazon has the Sony 128GB UHS-I SDXC memory card for $29.98, which is a new low for a card that was introduced for $71.99 last summer. That’s a pretty incredible deal for that much storage space on such a small form factor memory card. Check it out here on Amazon.com.
B&H has the Sony A6300 4K camera in stock and now shipping. The A6300 features a newly developed 24.2MP APS-C sensor with uses Sony’s 4D Focus system and shoots 4K video to an internal SD card.
Right now, it looks like only the kit is in stock with the body-only option apparently still filling pre-orders. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
Sony has released a firmware update for for the A6000, A7R II, A7R, A7S A7 II, A7 and A5100 cameras. The firmware version 3.10 adds new lens support, phase detection AF support (for compatible cameras) and movie AF support for the new 85mm f/1.4 GM lens.
It’s good to see Sony supporting older cameras after the new whiz-bang models come out. You can download the new firmware by searching for your specific camera model here on Sony’s website.
The new Sony A6300 started shipping today. B&H confirms that pre-orders have started going out to customers and will continue to fill orders as new stock arrives.

Sony has announced its new Cyber-shot HX80 compact camera, which features a 30x optical zoom lens for a 24-720mm equivalent zoom range. It uses an 18.2MP CMOS sensor and captures 1080/60p video with Sony’s solid XAVC-S codec. [Read more…]

Sony has announced the new PXW-Z150, which is professional 4K XDCAM camcorder that uses a 1″ sensor and will also capture 1080p video at up to 120 frames per second. The Z150 comes in at a modest price point of $3600 and features a 12x zoom lens that combines with the 20MP to offer a Clear Image Zoom feature with 18x zoom in 4K mode and 24x zoom in 1080p mode.
