Canon Unveils New EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L II USM Lens
Canon has officially unveiled its EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L II USM lens, which replaces the 16-year-old 100-400mm L lens predecessor. The new 100-400mm lens most obvious change is a rotating zoom ring design instead of the push-pull design from the older model. Additionally, the new lens offers improvements in image quality with a new optical formula and Image Stabilization performance up to four stops.
The lens has three Image Stabilization modes – standard, panning, and during exposure only. It also sports a weather sealed design and a magnesium housing. The new optical formula features one Fluorite element and one Super UD element, which helps suppress chromatic aberration throughout the zoom range.
The lens ships with a dedicated tripod foot and lens hood. It retails for $2199 and should be available in December 2014. Check it out here at B&H Photo.

Canon Survey Asks If Products Excite You and If You Feel Appreciated

Canon has been taken to task lately with regard to what is perceived as mediocre upgrades to products and overall connection with customers.
While the Canon 7D Mark II has the looks of a solid camera, the upgrade is considered insufficient by some with common complaints referencing not enough resolution for both still images and video.
