How to Add & Remove Lens Flare in Photoshop

In this video, Photoshop Principal Product Manager Bryan O’Neil Hughes explains how to add and remove lens flare from an image.

Removing lens flare from an image is accomplished by using Content Aware tools in Photoshop CC. Hughes also shows how to non-destructively add lens flare to an image using layer blend modes with the lens flare filter.

Joe McNally Breaks Down Outdoor Portrait with 3 Speedlights and High F-stop

This short video from Joe McNally breaks down how to use three speedlights for an outdoor portrait with a lot of depth of field. It’s a little heavy on the ads for Adorama, but still a nice 3 minute video with some great little lighting nuggets inside.

If you like this kind of stuff, I highly recommend his book The Hot Shoe Diaries, which is packed with a ton of lighting nuggets like this.

Nikon D800s Coming this Year?

New rumors suggest that the Nikon D800 may be getting a refreshed in a similar manner that we saw with the Nikon D4s. The updated models is rumored to boost the sensor performance using the same 36MP sensor and a boosting in processing power with the new Expeed 4.

No specifics have surfaced in terms of release time frame (Photokina would be a safe bet) or pricing.

iStockphoto Lauches New Subscription Model, Pays Contributors as Little as 28 Cents Per Image Download

The popular stock photography service, iStockphoto, sent out an email to contributors today that it will begin offering a new subscription model to customers in April 2014. While iStock did not reveal the customer pricing for the subscription model, it is likely to be similar to Shutterstock’s plans, which allow 25 image downloads per day for a flat rate of $249/mo.
