Sony A350 Review

The Sony A350 is a 14.2 megapixel DSLR, which was introduced at PMA 2008.  The A350 features a breakthrough Live View function that offers straightforward and easy-to-use image framing and auto-focusing with the rear LCD panel.  What’s more, the display alternates so that you can get up high or down low without straining your neck or getting on the ground.  As noted in Photography Bay’s Hands-On Preview of the A350, the articulating LCD and Live View function work quite well together.  In fact, these features set the Sony A350 apart from other entry-level DSLRs, including the Nikon D60 and Canon Rebel XSi. Nikon’s New Viewfinder Does Double Duty

Nikon has blown photographers away this past year with the introduction of the critically acclaimed Nikon D3 and Nikon D300.  Rumors abound of several new Nikon DSLRs in the works, including a D90 (update to the D80), D10 (mid-range full-frame camera) and a 24 megapixel D3X (leaked in a recent D3 firmware update).  We should know by the time Photokina 2008 rolls around which of these new cameras will come to fruition.

Canon Rebel XSi Review at The Digital Picture

The Digital Picture has posted a review of the new 12.2 megapixel Canon Rebel XSi.

I’m very pleased (actually somewhat surprised) with the improvements delivered by the Canon EOS Rebel XSi / 450D. It will be a worthwhile upgrade for many XTi / 400D owners – it is a lot of camera for the money for anyone purchasing it.

Sigma DP1 Review at Shutterbug

Shutterbug has posted a review of the Sigma DP1.

There are many options that are akin to SLR-like cameras. The fixed focal length lens might seem limiting at first, but this is something you get used to, even enjoy using. But the LCD screen is problematic, and in bright daylight got in the way of making compositional decisions and even exposure settings.
