Canon 5Ds and 5Ds R Press Release Leaks Out

The UK press release has leaked out via Canon Watch. The release contains details on the new Canon 5Ds models, as well as the EF 11-24mm f/4L USM lens.

It pretty much confirms everything we have seen leaked thus far – 50MP sensor, Dual DIGIC 6 processors, 61-point AF system, crop-shooting mode and more. We expect to see the official launch happen late tonight but, at this point, there is little mystery left to this impressive new camera.

The Canon 5Ds and 5Ds R cameras are due to be announced later this week and the leaks just keep on coming. The latest leak reveals a more detailed specification list that further confirms the 50MP full frame sensor and other powerful features of the new cameras.

The new 5Ds is believed to feature the same body construction with the 5D Mark III; however, there are some serious upgrades inside that body. [Read more…]

Tokina AT-X 11-20mm f2.8 PRO DX Lens

The upcoming Tokina AT-X 11-20mm f/2.8 PRO DX lens went up for pre-order today at a $599 retail price. It should start shipping on March 2, 2015 for both Canon and Nikon mounts.

This is an APS-C format lens, which results in about a 17.5-32mm full frame equivalent field of view. It has a nine-blade diaphragm and internal focusing. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
