Fuji HS10 Recommended External Flashes

One of the frequently recurring questions that I receive is “What flash should I get for the Fuji HS10?”

The Fuji HS10 features a hot shoe for an external flash; however, Fuji does not make a dedicated flash for the camera.  Perhaps Fuji should think hard about making a flash for the next version of this camera.

I have inquired directly with Fuji regarding recommended external flashes, only to receive rather vague responses as to which flash models are appropriate for the HS10.  As a result of testing, obtaining recommendations from manufacturers and corresponding with HS10 users, I’ve compiled a short list of recommended external flashes for the Fuji HS10. Photo Mechanic 4.6.5 Released

Camera Bits has released an updated version of Photo Mechanic.  Version 4.6.5 adds a number of new features to the powerful workflow software, including live ingest, embed GPS coordinates in photos, new upload templates for secure FTP, Amazon S3, Flickr, SmugMug, Zenfolio and more.

Nikon Goes to Space, Delivers (Inter)Stellar Images

Nikon Mirrorless Camera Coming Soon

Bloomberg is reporting that Nikon President, Makoto Kimura, has confirmed that Nikon will introduce a new interchangeable lens camera (ILC) soon, which could come prior to the end of Nikon’s current fiscal year (i.e., before April 2011).  Kimura also revealed that the new Nikon ILC “will probably have an enhanced function for video recording.” [Read more…]

Sony Cyber-shot TX9

The Sony Cyber-shot TX9 is a 12.2-megapixel point and shoot camera.  The 12.2MP sensor is a backlit CMOS design and is powered by Sony’s BIONZ processor.  The TX9 features an ultra-compact design, along with a 3.5″ touchscreen display similar to what is found on the Sony Cyber-shot TX7.  Add on top of that, a 4x optical zoom (25-100mm equivalent), Optical SteadyShot image stabilization, and a sensitivity range of ISO 125-3200. Panasonic LX5 Coming Soon?

The Panasonic LX3 has been one of the most popular point and shoot cameras since it was introduced in 2008.  Two years is an eternity in point & shoot camera world, but the Panasonic LX3 has remained one of the best-performing cameras around.

Canon Wonder Camera From the Future

Canon Wonder Camera

This futuristic concept camera is on display at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai.  Features and specs include a wide to tele lens capable of reaching out to 5000mm focal length.  Additionally, the concept suggest the ability to capture images with everything in focus.
