At PMA 2010, Sigma has continued to tease us with another introduction of the SD15 DSLR. The SD15 will contain a revamped version of the 14MP Foveon X3 CMOS sensor found in the SD14. It captures 12-bit RAW files, has a continuous shooting speed of 3 fps, and a 5-point AF system.
No word yet on price or availability, other than “hopefully very soon” per a Sigma rep I spoke with at PMA.

The Samsung TL500 (aka EX1) is a 10MP point and shoot camera with a 1/1.7-inch CCD image sensor, a 3x zoom f/1.8 lens and a 3-inch AMOLED swivel display. The TL500 supports RAW file capture and offers optical image stabilization.
The Samsung TL500 should be available in Spring 2010 at an initial retail price of $449.99.
The Samsung AQ100 and SL605 are two 12MP point and shoot cameras introduced at PMA 2010.
The Samsung AQ100 is waterproof up to 10 feet and features a 5x optical zoom, 720p HD video capture and a 2.7-inch LCD. The AQ100 should be available in Spring 2010 at an initial retail price of $199.99. Check availability on Amazon.com.

Canon has issued a press statement touting the effective use of the new flagship EOS 1D Mark IV at Super Bowl XLIV. Canon interviewed four photographers who used the 1D Mark IV at the big game, all of whom brag on the effectiveness of the camera’s new autofocus system. HP has announced several new products at PMA 2010 – the HP CW450, PW550z, SW450, CW450t and PW460t point and shoot cameras, as well as the V1020h, V5061u and V5560u camcorders. All of these new cameras are budget-friendly and range in price from $99 to $199.

Adobe Photoshop turns 20 tomorrow, February 19, 2010. It’s kind of amazing to think that it’s been around for that long. While DSLRs really just began to flourish 5 or 6 years ago, Photoshop has been kicking for four times as long. There is a whole lot of celebrating and special events coinciding with Photoshop’s 20th anniversary. Sony has announced two new Cyber-shot point and shoot cameras – the TX5 and H55.
The Sony TX5 is a 10.2MP compact waterproof camera up to 10 feet deep. The TX5 features optical image stabilization as well as Sony’s Exmor R CMOS and Sweep Panorama technology. It also carries freezeproof ratings down to 14 degrees F, and is dustproof and shockproof for up to 5-foot drops. The TX5 can also capture 720p HD video. The Sony TX5 should be available in April 2010 at an initial retail price of about $350. Check availability on Amazon.com.
The Sony H55 is a 14.1MP point and shoot camera with a 10x optical zoom (25-250mm equivalent), optical image stabilization, Sweep Panorama mode and a 3-inch LCD.
