The Nikon version of the famous 70-200mm f/4L IS from Canon is expected to arrive next week – just in time for PhotoPlus 2012. Nikon Rumors received word that the lens will be the first to feature Nikon’s next-gen VR system.
Given that the Canon equivalent runs $1350 at retail, I’d say that would be a good starting point to look toward for the Nikon lens – possibly up to $1400 or $1500.

It looks like Nikon’s next camera announcement may be coming on October 24 – just prior to PhotoPlus 2012. The Nikon 1 V2 is the most likely candidate as a replacement for the current Nikon 1 V1. Recall that the Nikon 1 J2 was introduced back in August as a prelude to Photokina 2012.

The recently-announced Nikon 1 Series 11-27.5mm lens is available and now shipping for $189.95.
The telephoto zoom lens offers an equivalent focal range of 30-74mm equivalent, and is smaller and lighter than the 10-30mm kit lens that ships with Nikon 1 cameras.

Samyang has added a 85mm T1.5 lens to its cinema lens line-up. The new 85mm T1.5 AS IF UMC lens joins the four existing Samyang cine lenses, the 8mm, 14mm, 24mm and 35mm.
Optical construction is the same as a standard version of the 85mm lens, including the 8-blade aperture for smooth bokeh wide open. This new version, however, is designed specifically for cinematography with focus gearing and a silent aperture ring.
No word yet on price, release dates or mount options; however, past Samyang cine models have been available in Canon, Nikon and Sony mounts.
The Samyang 10mm F/2.8 ED AS UMC CS lens is a new wide-angle prime for APS-C DSLRs.

Phottix unveiled the new Mitros TTL flash for Canon, Nikon and Sony systems.
According to Phottix, “Mitros will do everything you expect a top-of-the-line TTL flash to do. Functions include built-in IR triggering with Master and Slave modes, AF assist light, auto/manual zooming flash head, all with fast recharge times. The Phottix Mitros TTL Flash includes a USB port for firmware upgrades and a 3.5mm Sync port.”
The Phottix Mitros TTL flash will be available during Q4 2012 and Q1 2013.
