Olympus SZ-10 18x Superzoom

February 8, 2011 By Eric Reagan

The Olympus SZ-10 is a 14MP superzoom camera, sporting a 18x optical zoom lens (28-504mm equivalent).   The SZ-10 also features a high resolution 3-inch LCD (460k-dot res) and captures 720p HD video.

Perhaps the biggest feature on the SZ-10 is the fact that it shrank from past superzoom models.  The camera is quite compact for your typical superzoom camera model, measuring only 1.5-inches thick.

The Olympus SZ-10 carries a retail price tag of $249.99 and should be available in March.  Check availability on Amazon.com.

Olympus E-PL2 Rumored for CES 2011

December 29, 2010 By Eric Reagan

With CES 2011 coming up next week, the rumor mill is picking up for new camera models to be released at or around the show.  Near the top of the rumor list is an Olympus E-PL2 with a new high-res display, sensitivity up to ISO 6400 and a direct video record button.

If the above image is the real deal, it looks quite similar (if not a little sleeker) to the popular Olympus E-PL1, for which this new camera should serve as a direct replacement.  Let’s hope they add in a peppier autofocus too…
