Olympus XZ-1

The Olympus XZ-1 is a 10MP point and shoot camera with 4x optical zoom lens and a retro-inspired style. The 4x zoom lens provides a 35mm equivalent zoom range of 28-112mm and a bright f/1.8 aperture at the wide end.

The XZ-1 can capture 720p HD video at 30 fps and RAW-format still images.  The camera features a sensor-shift image stabilization system, with electronic image stabilization applied during video capture.  The XZ-1 also sports a 3-inch OLED monitor with a high 614k resolution.

The Olympus XZ-1 should be available in January 2011 at an initial retail price of $499.99.  Check availability on Amazon.com.

Olympus E-PL2

The Olympus E-PL2 was announced earlier this week at CES 2011.  As the name suggests, the Micro Four Thirds format E-PL2 is a follow-up to the popular E-PL1.

The E-PL2 features a 12.3MP sensor, max sensitivity of ISO 6400, 3-inch LCD (460k dot resolution) and Olympus’ signature Art Filters for creative photo processing in-camera.  The  E-PL2 should be available in January 2011 and ships with a 14-42mm kit lens for $599.99.  Check availability on Amazon.com.

JVC GC-PX1 High Speed Concept Camera

Casio TRYX

The Casio TRYX is a unique camera unveiled at CES 2011.  The TRYX features a camera body that rotates in and around an external frame.  The TRYX offers a 12.1MP CMOS sensor and captures 1080p HD video.

Casio Exilim EX-ZR100

The Casio ZR100 is a 12.1MP sensor with a 12.5x zoom lens (24mm-300mm equivalent) and has the ability to capture Full HD video.  As with past Casio point and shoot cameras, the ZR100 captures high speed video at up to 1000fps, albeit at a lowly 224 x 64 pixels.  The ZR100 offers a reasonable resolution of 432 x 320 when recording video at 240fps.  The big feature that Casio is touting with the ZR100 is its HDR-ART technology, which produces in-camera HDR images.

Casio Exilim EX-H30

Casio Exilim EX-ZS10 and EX-ZS5

Kingston SDHC UHS-I UltimateXX Memory Cards

Kingston has announced the UHS-I UltimateXX SDHC memory card.  As you may recall, UHS-I is a new standard introduced by the SD Association.  The new Kingston UltimateXX card offers up to 60MB/sec. read and 35MB/sec. write speeds.

The UltimateXX product line comes in capacities of 8GB, 16GB and 32GB priced at $69.99, $179.99 and $349.99, respectively.

Fuji FinePix HS20EXR

The Fuji HS20EXR is a follow up to the popular Fuji HS10.  The HS20EXR features a whopping 30x zoom lens (24mm-720mm equivalent) and a 16MP CMOS sensor.  The HS20 also packs a 3-inch tilting LCD and an electronic viewfinder.  The HS20 can capture photos in RAW format.

In addition to capturing photos, the HS20 can capture 1080p HD video, and features a high-speed movie capture at 320fps.  For those wishing to add an external flash to the hot shoe, the HS20 now features TTL metering for auto-flash performance (unlike the HS10 which only triggered a “dumb” flash).  Fuji currently offers two compatible hot shoe flash for TTL metering with the HS20.

The HS20EXR is powered by AA batteries and will be available in March 2011 at an initial retail price of $499.95.  Check availability on Amazon.com.
