Camera Raw 8.5 and DNG Converter 8.5 Now Available

Along with Lightroom 5.5, Adobe has released Camera Raw 8.5 for Photoshop CC and Photoshop CS6. A final version of the free DNG Converter 8.5 is also available for those using older versions of Photoshop.

While Camera Raw 8.5 provides several new features, they are only available to Photoshop CC users. Those using Photoshop CS6, however, do get the new camera support provided in Camera Raw 8.5.

DxO Optics Pro v9.5 Adds Tighter Lightroom Integration

DxO Optics Pro has been updated to version 9.5 with added integration for working with Adobe Lightroom. Additionally, the update adds RAW file support for 4 new cameras: the Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark II, the Nikon 1 V3, the Panasonic Lumix GH-4, and the Sony A6000.

Apple Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 5.03 Now Available

Apple has issued an update to Digital Camera RAW to version 5.03, which adds RAW image support for the Canon EOS M2 in Aperture 3 and iPhoto ’11. The update also resolves an issue that prevented lens correction from working properly with Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 images and address a color cast issue on some Olympus OM-D E-M1 images.

The update is available through the Mac App Store’s “Updates” tab.

Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Gets RAW Recording Update

Blackmagic Design has released Blackmagic Camera 1.5 software for the Pocket Cinema Camera, which adds new 12-bit Log CinemaDNG RAW recording to the Pocket Cinema Camera, so users can now capture super wide dynamic range in a single file. This feature was promised when the camera was announced back at NAB 2013. You can find the update here on Blackmagic Design’s website.
