Sony RX100M2 to Improve the Already-Excellent RX100
Several leaks and rumors point to a refresh of the excellent Sony RX100 (read my RX100 review) coming later this month. According to a leak of the RX100M2 manual, the camera will feature a hot shoe for attaching speedlights or other accessories and a tilting LCD screen. Rokinon 16mm f/2.0 ED AS UMC CS Lens Available for Pre-Order
Rokinon’s new 16mm f/4 ED AS UMC CS lens is now available for pre-order for $479 with expected availability on August 8. This lens is built for APS-C sensors. As such, the Canon EF-S version offers a field of view equivalent to 25.6mm on a full frame camera. While Nikon, Sony, Fuji X-Series and other APS-C cameras will get a 24mm equivalent field of view. Hasselblad Lunar Now Shipping in US for $7000
I know all of you have been waiting so long to get your hands on a Hasselblad Lunar, so you’ll be glad to know that the Lunar has started shipping in the US for an insane price of $7000.
In case you have missed my previous rants, the Lunar is essentially a glorified Sony NEX-7 with a reworked body and controls from Hasselblad and a bloated price tag. You can pick up one (or two) for yourself here at Amazon.com.

Olympus to Supply Sony with Lens Parts; Olympus 400mm f/4 Lens Coming for Sony Alpha?
Sony became the largest shareholder of Olympus in September 2012. Since then, we’ve waited for the relationship to lead to more collaboration between the companies.
Olympus recently revealed that it will soon being supplying lens parts to Sony. According to an Olympus spokesperson,
The imaging sensor has already started to source from Sony to Olympus. And the lens [parts] and lens units will start to source from Olympus to Sony.
While Olympus refused to specify the extent of the lens parts supplies to Sony, rumors suggest that Olympus will develop a 400mm f/4 lens for Sony Alpha A-mount cameras to be unveiled in early 2014.

Sony 4K TVs Now Shipping in US
As we continue to question the need for 4K production across the spectrum, TV manufacturers are wasting no time pushing 4K TVs out to customers. Sony 4K TVs are shipping from Adorama and Amazon with prices starting at $5000. The Seiki 4K 50″ TV is much more reasonably priced at $1445 here at Amazon.com.
While the 4K content I have seen at CES and NAB this year has been gorgeous, I’m not quite ready to pull the trigger on a 4K set. Many HD broadcasters and cable channels continue to pump out 720p programming to content consumers across the nation. Additionally, the compression from cable providers on HD content is terrible. I can’t imagine how bad the compression will be on full 4K content when it starts coming down the content pipe.
Of course, those finishing productions in 4K resolution now have access to 4K TVs to view final products and/or demo content to clients.
