Adobe SpeedGrade Coming to Producting Premium CS6?

December 23, 2011 By Eric Reagan

Adobe SpeedGrade

When Adobe bought IRIDAS’ tech earlier this year, colorists ears perked up at the idea of Adobe implementing SpeedGrade into its Production Premium suite of video products.  It’s been crickets since then though.

Last week, however, Colin Smith published the below video on Adobe TV entitled “Introduction to Speedgrade.” [Read more…]

December 22, 2011 By Eric Reagan

Nikon D800

Looks like another Nikon D800 image may have leaked out.  The above image from Nikon Rumors is claimed to be a side view of the Nikon D800, which accompanies the previously-leaked front and rear images.

The Nikon D800 is rumored to be coming in January or February 2012 and features a 36MP full frame image sensor, along with 1080p video capture at 30p, 25p and 24p frame rates.

Canon 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Lens Patent

December 22, 2011 By Eric Reagan

Canon 70-300mm Lens

Canon applied for a patent application on a 70-300mm f/4-5.6 lens in March 2011.  Presumably, this is an update to the consumer grade line of 75-300mm non-IS lenses.  There’s no mention of image stabilization in the patent; however, that doesn’t necessarily mean that it couldn’t be an IS lens.

These are the current consumer zoom models in this range:

  • EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III
  • EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM
  • EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM

The other line of thought is that a new 70-300mm f/4-5.6 lens with image stabilization could replace the existing mid-grade lens as a cheaper/lower model. [Read more…]

December 22, 2011 By Eric Reagan

Waveform

I started to title this post “Don’t Put Copyrighted Music in Your Videos” but that doesn’t really fit.  If someone else created/performed it, then chances are that there’s a valid copyright to it and you need to either: (1) pony up for a license fee, or (2) think twice about using it in your videos.
