I stopped by Olympus’ meeting room at CES 2016 (no Olympus booth this year), to get a closer look at the new M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm f/4 IS PRO lens. At CES 2016, Polaroid unveiled its new Snap+ instant camera, which builds on the popularity and success of its predecessor, the Polaroid Snap. The new Snap+ adds a 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD for framing shots and navigating the menu. [Read more…]

Alongside the new D5 and D500, Nikon also announced a new flagship speedlight – the SB-5000, which works with the companion WR-R10 radio trigger.
When paired with the WR-R10, the SB-5000 can trigger up to 98 feet away. The SB-5000 can control up to six groups or 18 speedlights. The SB-5000 also has an internal cooling system that prevents overheating from consecutive firings.
Controls have also been streamlined and refined, with the addition of an “i” button for access to frequently used settings. The flash head can tilt down to -7° or up to 90° and will rotate 180° to the left or right.
The Nikon SB-5000 will be available in March for $599.95. You can pre-order it now here at B&H Photo.

Leica has announced three new wide-angle lenses for M mount cameras:
The Elmarit-M 28mm f/2.8 is a very compact profile at just over an inch long. All of the lenses feature a minimum focusing distance of 2.3′. Each lens ships with an all-metal lens hood and a metal lens cap. The new Summicron-M 35mm lens is also available in a silver finish. You can pre-order each of the lenses via the links above.

GoPro announced today that its sales for the fourth quarter of 2015 were lower than expected even with an overall $435 million in revenue. GoPro noted that the lower revenue also reflects a $21 million reduction in price protection related charges due to dropping the HERO4 Session down to $199. [Read more…]
